Disclaimer for Face Coverings

To the full extent permissible by law, Positive Masters disclaims all warranties on cloth face coverings and other types of face coverings, expressed or implied, including but not limited to, implied warranties that the cloth face coverings and other types of face coverings will prevent users from contracting germs, other contaminants, and infectious diseases such as but not limited to, viruses and the common cold.

To prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”) recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies), especially in areas of significant community-based transmission. CDC also advises the use of simple cloth face coverings to slow the spread of the virus and help people who may have the virus and do not know it from transmitting it to others.

Pursuant to the CDC, cloth face coverings should not be placed on young children under two years old, anyone who has trouble breathing, or is unconscious, incapacitated, or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance.

The cloth face coverings recommended by the CDC are not N-95 respirators or surgical masks. Per CDC guidance, those are critical supplies that must continue to be reserved for healthcare workers and other medical first responders.

According to the Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”), N-95 respirators, surgical masks, and cloth face coverings do not provide complete protection from germs and other contaminants, nor do they completely eliminate the risk of illness or death. The FDA, along with the U.S. Surgeon General, both agree with and reference the CDC’s recommendation that members of the public use simple cloth face coverings when in a public setting to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus, since this will help people who may have the virus and do not know it from transmitting it to others.

As recommended by the CDC, cloth face coverings should be routinely washed depending on the frequency of use. According to the CDC’s guidance, a washing machine should suffice in properly washing a face covering. Individuals should be careful not to touch their eyes, nose, and mouth when removing their face covering and wash hands their immediately after removing their face covering.

On behalf of all of us at Positive Masters, we thank you for your understanding of this disclaimer and the recommendations by the CDC, U.S. Surgeon General, and FDA. Together, we can help prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus and other infectious diseases. Our cloth face masks are one-size fits most for adults. As mentioned above, our cloth face masks are recommended by the CDC, U.S. Surgeon General, and FDA to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus; however, they do not completely protect you from contracting germs, other contaminants, and infectious diseases.

For more information on the novel coronavirus and face coverings, you can visit the CDC’s website at www.cdc.gov, the U.S. Surgeon General’s website at www.hhs.gov, and the FDA’s website at www.fda.gov.

With Warmest Aloha,
