Hawaii has been extremely humid for the past couple of months, the worse I've ever experienced in my lifetime living here (I'm born and raised on Oahu, Hawaii). Besides loving the air conditioning, I like to take a cold or cool shower that gives me a refreshing feeling! Well, there are a number of benefits of cold showers as I learned from reading articles from medical websites. For one, a cold shower is good to wake you up. When the cold water hits your skin, you get a bit of a shock that increases your heart rate and oxygen intake. Sleep is Important for Your Mind and Body.

Sleep is very important to having a positive mind and healthy body. Health professionals recommend adults to sleep 7 to 9 hours, although some people may need as few as 6 hours or as many as 10 hours of sleep each day. If you're a teenager (ages 14-17), you need about 8-10 hours of sleep each day. Children need more hours of rest, and much more is needed for babies. I aim to have at least 7 hours of sleep every night, however, I have to admit that I'm not consistent on this.
