Facing Your Fear of Risk 9th Rest Day for 2022 I took my 9th rest day for 2022 yesterday, Friday, April 8, 2022. I also rested most of Thursday, April 7, 2022 except for pro bono legal work I did for my client as a business attorney. For my day to count as a rest day, I have to avoid all work and be present with my relaxing activities by myself or with loved ones. This past week and the week before, I spent 6 days with my entire immediate family since my sister Mia and her family were staying at my parents’ house in Pearl City, Hawaii for 6 days. They vacationed on their own for 4 days on...
Get enough sleep to keep your mood in the positive zone. Yesterday, I worked from late at night until the sun came up. I napped for 4 hours and continued working. Even though I wanted to be productive, it was hard. My concentration wasn't at the level I needed to progress steadily throughout my day. Second, my resilience to outside negativity became weaker. Take vacations to recharge yourself! Studies have shown the importance of taking vacations from work to reduce your stress. Even a staycation or simply staying at home to rest and do the things you enjoy like reading and writing can be extremely beneficial for your health. I recently took time off during the Holiday Season to spend time with my family and friends. I do my best to be present so I can make the most of every moment with my loved ones. It was especially nice to be with my loved ones who came to Hawaii from California. If you're a teenager (ages 14-17), you need about 8-10 hours of sleep each day. Children need more hours of rest, and much more is needed for babies. I aim to have at least 7 hours of sleep every night, however, I have to admit that I'm not consistent on this. I've succeeded 85 times and today, July 10, 2019 is the 170th day of the year. After working during the day, I often return home and continue working late at night and into the...
