When something bad happens to you, don't conclude that it'll happen to you over and over again.

Cognitive Distortions - Part 2When something bad happens to you, don't conclude that it'll happen to you over and over again. This is what mental health professionals call "overgeneralization." Stay positive! For example, you break up with someone and you believe that no one will ever love you. In a dispute, not everyone will believe the facts. Keep doing what you can, but don't let your stress destroy your health or suck the joy out of your life.

If you're facing a dispute or litigation, all you can do is present your side of what happened. After that, it's up to the trier of fact, whether it be a mediator, arbitrator, judge, or jury. I love this game! If you love what you do, it's fun, like a game. If you don't, it's life, the dreary tasks you do to get by. Finding your purpose that makes your heart sing is what you desire. It's what we all desire. If you have your purpose, awesome! Keep working on it! If you haven't found your purpose, I have a fun homework for you. Write down 10 things you enjoy doing. Then, write 10 ways you can provide value for others for each of the 10 things you enjoy doing. Next, pick your favorite value and find a company, non-profit organization, or government agency that provides that value and see if you can work for them....
