Embrace obstacles as something that normally occurs. So when something does go wrong, you're calm and ready to take it on like it's no big deal. Tell yourself, "I will become better because of this obstacle."

It always amazes me when people get upset by an obstacle, like when someone rejects their work or business proposal. They start blaming the messenger. They dumb down the system. They attack the other party that rejected them. This is wasted energy. They could use their precious energy for their next moves. Don't be surprised when something goes wrong because it will. Don't blow them up way out of proportion because doing so will cause you unnecessary grief. Everyone makes mistakes. To counter your anxiety or depression, take one small action at a time, and reward yourself for taking these actions. When you're anxious or depressed, you may freeze-up and find it difficult to do your work or even your basic tasks. Instead, you think about your worries or painful memories. When you're unable to do anything to help yourself progress, your worries or sadness increases because now you have added stress for all the things you haven't been able to keep up with.
